The Ultimate Guide To Funko DC NFTs - Series 2

The Ultimate Guide To Funko DC Series 2 NFTs

We are over a year into Funko NFTs and we have finally reached the very first Series 2 with the revisit of Funko DC NFTs.

Funko DC NFTs Series 2 drop September 6 @ 2pm EDT.

There was always a question mark about when Series 1 would end and Series 2 would start. It's clearly fluid and on a per franchise basis, with repeat visits like we see here racking up the series denominations, whilst first-time franchises will be labelled Series 1.

Now the DC universe is expanded in all of Funko's NFT glory, with Green Arrow, Parallax, Superman and Batman up for grabs as physical Funko Pops!

Read on to learn how to get involved.

1. DC NFT Packs

Funko offers the usual two NFT packs at launch - a Standard ($9.99) and a Premium ($29.99) option.

Pack Amount Released No. of NFTs Launch Price Launch Date
Standard Pack 50,000 5 $9.99 06/09/2022
Premium Pack 50,000 15 $29.99 06/09/2022

Let's address the, erm, Batman in the room. This is the biggest Funko NFT drop ever. Previously Avatar Legends was the largest we have seen. The Funko DC NFT drop is a whopping 60% bigger!

So what does this mean? It means that you are likely to get packs on drop day and, if you don't, packs will be lower cost on the secondary market due to mass supply.

There are more redeemables to collect (more on that later), but the increase is within the Legendary and Royalty volume, rather than increasing the variety of the physicals you can collect.

Do I like this approach? I can't say I'm a fan, but what it does do is increase those who can get involved and it will drive down secondary pack/redeemable prices, with the exception of the grail (which becomes incredibly hard to pull and, therefore, expensive).

It certainly echoes criticism from Funko fans outwith the NFT space, those who don't like the, ironically, walled NFT garden that is hostage to their favourite physical Pop! characters.

But is ample supply a benefit for all?

It's certainly not in the interest of the Funko NFT purist who prefers the allure of the limited physicals that the Digital Pop! range has come to be known for.

Whichever side you sit on, the real winner here is Funko. 'Fat Stacks Freddy' would make for an interesting Pop!

Back to the drop.

If this is your first Funko NFT drop, the only difference between a standard and premium pack is the amount of NFTs inside. For example, there are no bonuses for buying a premium pack over three standard packs.

Packs will be available on launch day on Droppp.io and can only be bought with a credit/debit card. The drop is limited to $60 and you can rejoin the queue to buy more if you are very lucky (highly unlikely due to the size of this drop).

You can enter the queue for packs around 10 minutes before launch (the 'Purchase In' timer will change to 'Join The Queue').

If you fail to grab packs at launch, you can buy from the secondary market (guide further down).

2. DC NFT Collection & Rarities

Batman is back along with a vast cast of DC NFT characters, including Joker, Harley Quinn, Doctor Fate and more.

Everyone wants to get hold of those rare legendary and grail NFTs, so here are your pull odds:

NFT Rarity Type No of Templates % Odds Of Unpacking Total Circulation Per Unique Template
Common 54 49.84% (1/1) 498,401 9,229/9,230
Uncommon 39 27.30% (3/1) 273,000 3,600
Rare 21 13.86% (6/1) 138,600 6,600
Epic 12 7.20% (13/1) 72,000 6,000
Legendary 4 1.70% (58/1) 17,000 4,250
Grail 1 0.10% (999/1) 999 999
1 of 1 6 0.003% (0.009% Premium) 6 1
Series Coin 1 10% (30% Premium) 20,000 20,000

The odds of pulling a Grail is 999/1. This is the hardest Grail pull we have ever seen since Avatar Legends 624/1. DC Series 1 used to have the crown as the most difficult-to-pull Grail at a now generous looking 499/1.

The good news is that Legendary are easier to pull at 58/1, which is an improvement over Avatar's 73/1 pull rate and DC Series 1's 61/1.

A 1-of-1 is an ultra-rare, non-redeemable NFT. The odds of pulling from a standard pack is 333332/1 for this drop. This will appear as a bonus 6th slot within your pack. A premium pack gives you the same odds as pulling a 1-of-1 as 3 standard packs (166666/1).

A Series Coin is another bonus collectable NFT (non-redeemable) that will also appear in the 6th slot if pulled.

Statistics

Ever wondered how many DC packs have been opened? The number of Legendary or Grail NFTs still to be found? Or who are the top account holders of each redeemable pop?

Now you can with the excellent PopInStock DC NFT tracker.

3. Royalty & Physical Redemption

Those fans of DC characters will have a lot to like here with Parallax, Superman, Green Arrow and Batman making an appearance.

Five of the redeemables can be claimed by collecting the Grail (limited to 999) and the four legendary (limited to 4,250 each) NFTs.

The Pops! on offer here look really good. I can't say I'm overly familiar with Batman Azrael, though the physical looks bad ass and I can see it being popular.

The four Legendary Pops! all look great, with my favourite being Batman in the Justice Armor.

All redemption dates for all Funko NFT sets can be found here:

Royalty Collection

The Royalty collection reward is claimed when you complete the entire 126 NFT set (excluding legendary, Grail, Series Coin and 1-of-1).

In simple terms, if you collect all 54 common, 39 uncommon, 21 rare and 12 epic variants from the set, you'll have completed the Royalty Collection and will be able to redeem an exclusive Freddy Funko as Riddler (above) when redemption coins are distributed.

A redemption coin will be distributed to you on Jan 4, 2023, if you hold all 126 NFTs in either your WAX wallet or Droppp wallet. You will then have 30 days to redeem your physical by Feb 3, 2023.

Freddy as Riddler is very neat, but the 6000-piece count is incredibly high for this one. Although not all of those will be redeemed, it will easily surpass the 4k piece count seen in the more 'common' Box of Fun Freddies.

4. New to Funko NFTs?
