The NFT buzz is in overdrive and you want a slice of the action!
Where do you start? What blockchain do you use? Where do I buy NFTs? Where do I buy crypto to buy NFTs?
We have all been there asking the same questions.
Thankfully we have taken the hard work away by creating a series of guides to navigate your way through this exciting bleeding-edge technology.
If you don't know what an NFT is it's best to start here first:
This article will give you a good grounding on what an NFT is and the potential they have to play a vital role in our everyday lives.
If you didn't know already, NFTs use the same technology that power cryptocurrencies: Blockchain.
A blockchain is essentially a public ledger that stores data in encrypted blocks, chaining the data blocks in chronological order. Visually think of it as a chain of boxes where you can store cool things inside like data, images and video.
The Etherium blockchain is the most well-known blockchain for NFTs, usually because popular NFT projects like CryptoPunks hit the headlines for the incredibly high prices they command.
However, Etherium is not the best blockchain for NFTs. Every time you do any transaction on Etherium, such as buying an NFT or listing an NFT for sale, you need to pay a gas fee. The busier the network, the higher the gas fee.
Gas fees can be expensive and are often more expensive than the NFT you are buying. Etherium also uses a lot of energy, as whenever a transaction is made, computational power is required to mine the block.
We highly recommend you start with the WAX blockchain, which is free from gas fees, carbon neutral, much faster transactions and incredibly easy to get started in.
We will post an article soon giving more reasons why the WAX blockchain kicks ass, but you can take our word for it...it's bloody awesome!
You can get started quickly with WAX by creating a WAX wallet. Once you have your wallet, you can connect it to NFT marketplaces to buy all the NFTs you want:
To buy NFTs, you will need WAXP. WAXP is the crypto token of WAX and if you've never bought crypto before, it can be a little intimidating at the start.
Thankfully we have you covered in our Where to buy WAX article with complete guides on each option:
Not sure how much WAXP you need? Scout some of the projects in the next step to get an idea of what you will need to get involved in the many WAX projects.
You can look at all the amazing WAX NFT projects and buy their NFTs from the AtomicHub Marketplace.
