McFarlane Toys Collector Edition Green Lantern Preorders Open

The new Green Lantern Alan Scott action figure from McFarlane Toys is a great addition to the McFarlane Collector Edition series.

Fans and collectors alike can start placing their pre-orders now on Amazon and Entertainment Earth for $29.99.

While the Collector Edition label is fresh from McFarlane Toys, it continues to deliver the familiar package fans have come to expect from the DC Multiverse range, albeit with a $10 price increase.

This 7” scale figure features the usual Ultra Articulation with 22 moving parts, providing ample freedom for a variety of poses and action stances. Included with the figure are a lantern and attachable flame accessory, an exclusive collectable art card with a stand, and a figure base.

The figure's design pays homage to the original Green Lantern, Alan Scott, as he was depicted in "Day of Vengeance." As we have seen with the McFarlane Toys Collector Edition Superman, we do have more reused parts from existing figures, in this case, the body is from the SDCC-exclusive Dread Lantern figure. This means, if we were being very picky, Alan Scott's ring isn't on his left hand like it should be.

That ring, of course, is one of the Green Lantern's iconic features and it comes with a cool green flame accessory along with his lantern. Recharging his ring through his magic lantern has been a consistent element in Green Lantern's story arc, and it's great to see this reflected in the figure's design.

This release also brings the thrill of possibly receiving a chase variant. These limited-edition versions of the figure are highly sought-after due to their rarity, and it certainly adds an extra layer of excitement to the unboxing experience. We can only speculate what the variant for Green Lantern Alan Scott might be (maybe his ring on his left hand!).
